vy house is a 2 storey contemporary house by rakta studio nestled in the heart of bandung city. the project base could be translated as a large white canvas that provides a compact living experience to the owner — featuring a little bit of reminiscent to classic greek architecture.

the white-washed walls are plain, pure, and serene. as it portrays similar Mediterranean minimalism that sits under the blue skies during the day, and emphasize calming tranquility for endless intimate moments with the family in the soundless evening.

focusing on the simple clean lines, and white color as the main theme, the architect controlled natural light to create shadows that play an important role in dividing the wall mass into pleasing proportions.

the shadows describe the edges of physical form and also the depth of the volume. they accentuate the shape of an unshaded portion of the building.
