Using Bright White to Turn a Small Apartment into Minimalistic Haven
having a bright white interior have so many interpretations. let’s take a quick test by looking at this image for a while and seeing the first impression that comes to your mind?
do you feel calm, refreshed, focus, or peaceful? or rather, you feel cold, lonely, and empty?
interpreting bright white and the plain color interior often leaves a debate. some people might think of it as serene and pure, while others can feel isolated, cold, and blank being in a too monochromatic-white interior.
similar debates have also come across two different cultures. in western culture, white color is associated with weddings, angels, and any elements that portray purity, happiness, and peacefulness. on the other side, white color is strongly linked to funerals and morning rituals in eastern cultures (despite the fact that most japanese designers use their own terms in a minimalistic interior). not many people agree on how the majority of how eastern culture reinterprets white, yet we can correlate it by seeing some public activities involve the color.
