think of starting a new life in mars?
the design story — we are unaware of the fact that the earth surface changes everytime massive disaster. take example of the magnitude-9 earthquake/ tsunami in japan in 2011 that reached the chilean coast and surrounding countries in the pacific coastline, including china, taiwan, alaska, and canada. this event alone killed at least 20,000 people. nonetheless, the more concerning yet unnoticed effect is the speeding up of the antartica’s ice stream, which basically shortens the 24 hour/day on earth by 1.8 microseconds, based on nasa official report.
seems like some islands will be wiped out sooner than we thought. now it might be time to look for an alternative planet for us to continue living and grow our future. as of right now, it sounds like mars is our only option — the planet that, amongst the other 9, has geological similarities to that of earth, and also is approachable by distance.
