swedish archipelago house: project by norm architects and karimoku case study

nestled on a lonely rocky coast of sweden, archipelago summer house became a wooden landmark that resembles a boathouse set on top of a hidden cliff, embracing a swedish holiday home’s familial aspect.
designed by normarchitects, the house is also part of karimoku case study’s third case, which incorporates the bespoke interior and custom-made furniture with the all-wooden structure that is resulting in a harmonious relationship with surrounding nature.
as norm architects draw inspiration from the swedish coastline’s local architecture and landscape, thus blurring the inward and outward line while using the bespoke furniture by karimoku case studies to complement its humble interior with a plethora of natural materials muted colors, clean lines, and minimal yet well-curated furnishings.
the house’s design is focused on clean lines, bright spaces, and light colors as the perfect sanctuary when you want to get away from the city’s hectic life, cherishing nordic building traditions and a japanese sensibility in aesthetics and craftsmanship. hence the house makes a perfect portrait of a combination of scandinavian coziness, along with all the minimal texture and soft furniture while maintaining japanese elegance…
