snohetta and wikipedia working on a brand identity?

the famous norwegian architecture and design firm, and designer of the world’s first underwater european restaurant, snøhetta, has come with its collaboration with wikimedia foundation, the american nonprofit and charitable organization that operates google wikipedia.

after a year of brand research, strategic planning, and community consultations, the organization has announced to undergo visual identity overhaul through a rebranding project.

aim to follow the organization’s mission, which is to “set knowledge free,” the project invites all members of the wikimedia movement to collaborate in making their new identity.
