sitting on a bend in singaporean street, the bamboo veil house was originally purchased by the owner many years ago. leaving the aging house less upgrade through times, and had sense the desire for a re-build for an updated preferences.

to start, the owner propose a simple brief of a minimalist tropical house with a wide social space on the ground floor for family and friends to gather. as his family longed for a private yet modern tropical home that responds to singapore’s dense urban environment and tropical climate.

later on, he travelled to tokyo and found himself mesmerized by the design of nezu museum. one amongst many famous museum in tokyo, and was designed by japanese architectural legend, kengo kuma, predominantly by a natural and eco-friendly bamboo cladding facade.

it was sort of love at first sight. how the design made him impressed by the texture, and bamboo color, led him to the decision as to clad his new house in bamboo.
