“if we managed to go back to the beginning, we could go anywhere” is the core concept behind zak ik. an extraordinary boutique store in azulik tulum, mexico, brings each of their visitors to walk on barefoot.

the reason is as simple as to shop while reminiscing life before tech and development, look over the existing world where spirit and the earth are its only occupant.

now, if we may ask a few questions to our great ancestors’ life, do they shop in the past days? do they fashion as well? if they were, what did they wear, how they shop, and what was the store look like? maybe the term “shopping” was not on their list while earning goods for daily needs is only through an exchange (barter system).

but if we are allowed to reimagine what would shopping look like in life before centuries, what was the interior design would be made of, perhaps zak ik store has a glimpse of its portrait.
