london-based architectural design studio, giles miller studio, proudly announces their first non-profit-initiative design to support those in need during the upcoming festive season, the goodness-trees.
goodness-trees are a corrugated cardboard christmas tree, designed to be a planet-friendly charitable alternative at christmas time.
“we all like to enjoy ourselves during the christmas period, but the festive season also brings hard times for many people out there, as well as for the planet.” explained the studio, to the design story team.
the uk consumes about 8 million trees annually, while in the united states, between 35 and 40 million trees are sold each year, all destined to perform short-term decorative roles before being discarded. goodness-trees offer an alternative to cutting down trees at christmas time for decoration — they are eco-friendly, reusable, and recyclable.
“goodness-trees are a chance to support those in need at christmas time. we aim to employ those without work to assemble our trees, giving them vital income when they need it most. we will then donate net profits from…
