nestled at the upper area of bandung, the capital city of west java, local-based rakta studio creates a rather greyish boxy architecture that stands out conspicuously along a street of elite residential cluster, rj house. modern, wide, and spacious. differentiating itself from the neighbor with rough exposed concrete and precise edges.

the semi-detached house facing east was composed of stacking concrete boxes with bending iron plates. while using timber screen for the façade to create a focal point, which contrasts in the material.

aside from creating a bold spatial depth by stacking boxes to the façade, the dynamic composition created a unique spatial and welcoming sequence of the house.

a timber deck composed the outdoor foyer. there is a fish pond with greenery such as bushes and a vertical garden that created tropical, warm yet cozy vibes.
