architecture is a broad notion that if we try to dig further, it can reveal deep concealed values, insights, and stories. it is a field that cannot be judged from the physical form only, rather one that can generate better means of livability.

maybe the notion is further beyond what an architect must essentially do. perhaps it is more than just concepts, space, structures, and images. as human beings, we are always connected to our surroundings and of course, this can be manifested towards what we do and create.

for rizvi hassan, a young and emerging bangladeshi architect who has spent most of his time working with non-governmental organizations in his beloved country, it was in a form of a call after encountering the hindu-pararohingya refugee camp — a call that made him think of architecture in a broader spectrum. one that does not only speak of tools and structure but one that is also for community empowerment and involvement.
