it seems so long ago when making more, consuming more, and wasting more are considered luxurious and extravagant. today, with environmental issues and sustainability demands from all directions, all industries are forced to redefine and think beyond their mathematical costs and presence in this global era through exploration and discoveries.

british designer rhys ellis seems to have found his way of blurring the lines between waste and beauty through organic shapes in wearables, all to raise awareness of environmental issues to the public eye.

with his training in milan and work experience in a number of ateliers in amsterdam, paris, and london, rhys is now passionately seeking to perfect a system that, through collaborations with other organizations with similar empathy towards the environment, is able to circulate and find new lives to each material or component in an effort to reduce and repurpose waste.

this is where everything began for rhys ellis — how he grew the motivation to further embrace the journey to redefine sustainable fashion into new age luxury.
