rafiq azam sees architecture as a dialogue of humanity on #storyofdesign
think of architecture. think of it as a breathing mechanism of its own.
perhaps all these years, we architects often see our project as a non-living thing. but what if architecture is actually a living being? what if it can breathe its own mechanism? and what if we architects are the servants, who have to translate them to the community? that in order to raise an everlasting message and memories, is only through the sense of humanity?
“as i started thinking about architecture as a poetic environmental responsibility, i began to understand that one small project can teach a lot of immense pleasure. moreover, (and on top of that), architects are servants for the people in the community, not only for the rich people, but everyone within the community. our final destination is to become architects for the people.”
“so then i question myself, how can i serve these communities if my projects are only small residential projects for a small part of the community? architects should gradually prepare themselves to handle larger projects for the community, such as public places, parks, playgrounds, and open green spaces.”
