projecting a rythm of art and space: model duplex at zhuhai yanlord marina center
traveling to china might seem a little bit different in zhuhai. nestled in the country’s southern coast, the city, which name originates from the word “pearl of the sea,” has been acknowledged as china’s most livable and beautiful city — capturing a breathtaking natural landscape from the mountains and sea, overlooking macao's ocean view and the hong kong-zhuhai-macao bridge.
here, the ocean serves as the central axis upon which the center’s external architectural curve laps like a wave. the zhuhai yanlord marina center, a skyscraper that houses a hotel, and a residential complex stand in between the landscapes, have immersed an ultimate dream for their guests and owners by unifying the exterior with the interior.
inspired by ernest hemingway’s ‘the old man and the sea’ show people the power of life when facing death, whilst t.k.chu’s design focuses on children and the sea because of the implication of life, warmth, and hope, and consequently, we may see the artist he lang’s work ‘crying children’ echoing with the center’s gateway.
