meet sequel , a series of pastel-colored mid-century premium seats to accompany post-covid19 date night after a long break at the cinema.

the idea was as simple as to encourage people, instead of drive-through cinema in a car — outdoor, sequel enables us, friends, families, and lovers to return to the theater without having to worry about social distancing and haunted by the virus.

Pastel-Colored “Sequel” Chair Designed for Social Distancing at The Cinema: Project by Layer Design

designed by layer, a team of industrial and digital designer engineers, artists, experience experts, researchers, and branding specialists from around the world, the team has come in one purpose amidst the unended pandemic; to embrace the designated future focusing on human and tech.

their mission was super noble and tech-savvy. but the design was far beyond their super safe, friendly mission. the chair was planned to be all built in a dreamy accent — cute, and millenials oriented. the seats’ cushions were wrapped in light pink and blue pastel hues. the 3d-knitted fabric upholstery connects antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties.
