situated on top of el retiro hillside — hidden under the dense native forest and pine trees, el refugio became the second construction built within only 104 — meter site. a relatively small space yet pays a homage to colombian countryside’s hidden gem.
el retiro has been long known as the municipality in antioquia, colombia.
a town where there is not much of attraction — other than its natural preserves, the tropical rainforest, and the beautiful old white churches down the mountain. and all you see would be the churchgoers on sunday mass overflowed the street. surprisingly active, a bit of far — far away yet one of those places that remain a world apart. welcoming and charming. a pleasant home for about six thousand living, not to forget their iconic spanish-colonial buildings.
