mara reinterprets contemporary fine dining in an industrial scheme

glasgow based designer, kieran reilly, unveils his recent branding project for a contemporary dining restaurant, mara, in dornoch, scotland. a historic seaside town is best known for its glorious beach, high street shops, and world-class golf course, royal dornoch.

inspired by the industrialization of the restaurant’s area, the brand’s identity, mara, with the word “a” symbolizes the water, was designed to reflect the sustainability of scottish dishes served within the restaurant.

the three colors opted in the branding, dark teal green, earthy peach, and brown taking cues to boost the restaurant’s sustainable mission. presented as gifts from scotland’s waters, fields, forests, and skies wrapped in a very minimal look. creating a line between the color tone, the noble identity, and the food resources. in which, most of them from locally grown and sustainable ingredients.
