villa city is a relatively small residential project nestled at the heart of district 7, ho chi minh city, vietnam, that merges modern accents amongst subtle tropical greeneries.

the house was designed during the early covid-19 outbreak; where schools are closed, public and entertainment spaces enforced social isolation. here within the city, housing spaces become more responsible for serving more people, which is more difficult than narrow residential spaces located in big cities.

the architect, story architecture, emphasizes spaces that are relaxing and enjoyable for young children. while at the same time, incorporating nature balances the human-nature interaction, as the house is occupied by a couple and their two sons.

“vietnam is a tropical country with a very high amount of sunlight radiation. planting trees makes the facade cool, making a coherent living in a city with roads with little greenery and parks.” explained kava nguyen, the founder.
