the first-ever floating apple store is open already! the building is round, a little bit of an apple look-alike. well, it is apple, anyway.
the new apple store in singapore has added a new addition to common apple stores around the world. designed by the famous foster + partners, this project is located in one of the busiest cities and favorite touristic spots in singapore, marina bay sands. to merge in surrounding outdoor landscapes; capturing both greeneries and waterways.
the store has appeared as a round, dome-shaped (we prefer called it: apple fruit look alike), floating sphere. however, the building was actually inspired by the pantheon in rome, perfectly nestled to sit directly on the water to capture flood rays of daylight and night city lights through space.
not only was the building captivating and exquisite, but it also offers a new shopping experience. with trees lining the dome’s interior, singapore’s green garden city flows into the store, providing additional shading and soft shadows through the foliage. it wholeheartedly welcomes you through a small bridge entrance to the floating…
