argentinian designer and cgi experts, andrés reisinger recently introduced the latest product out of his 3d rendering machine, hortensia chair, to come in reality in the form of fluffy pink design with the help of 20.000 pink fabric petals.

the first real version of hortensia chair is currently on display at the montoya gallery in barcelona, spain, after a year of research and development.

mimicking the hyper-tactile and fluffy exterior is one of the primary challenges he encountered. as the name, hortensia, is meant to evoke a typical old-fashioned hydrangea flower commonly found in southern and eastern asia during spring to late autumn.

when tracing back the design process of hortensia, reisinger, who works primarily with cgi, posted the light pink hortensia rendering on his instagram in july 2018. then he accumulated thousands of likes, through some publication in design magazines — alongside many real pieces of furniture, to prompt three orders for his non-existent pink fluffy chair.
