engawa house’ wooden gallery is an extent to reminiscence
situated on the top of a rocky and strong cliff between two small bays that face the fresh blue pacific ocean, engawa house has brought a tropical interference in between the atmosphere of the seaside, to the east and west breeze through many angles, unseen.
designed by chilean architects, santiago valdivieso + stefano rolla, engawa house seems to be one of the southern countries’ tropical modest home, along with their natural-based adjacents — cozy and inviting. as if the ambiance is calling for a long-lasting happy summer house with beloved ones or families.
hoping to generate a house that allows working both as a refuge and as the opposite, a panorama (as the architects’ says), hence an intermediate condition was considered between the interior and exterior of engawa house. creating a natural and intimate personal landscape that boosts the relationship between materials, and the whole structure, to its surroundings which are opportunely exposed to nature and the territory.
