as designers, we often shut our eyes to man-made surroundings when it comes to investigating materials from and in context. but for emma cogné, whose works have come cross-pollinates across the boundaries of textile, craft and contemporary furniture, it brought her to local and global recognitions, including the minister of higher education award winner in 2018 at tremplin, tlmag award winner, and finalist of the 2018 dorothy waxman international textile design prize mohawk showroom, new-york.

all these valuable awards were to appraise a strong dedication to her passionate investigation towards material, and value, and how to add and incorporate the two elements to expressively speak and connect with the living environment. made merely from the ordinary, to form a humble interdisciplinary. of course, with textile as the medium.

throughout time, cogné has always been open-minded and nurtured a keen interest in arts. her visionary lens on textiles has surpassed the relationship to today’s architectural issues — one from which she earned from her interests at school with theater and performing arts.
