children’s literature has the power to shape future generations. the values they presented are immeasurable and priceless. this is why it is crucial to arm the young ones with as much valuable knowledge as possible. stories and illustrations make a bridge between a written literacy to unlimited imagination, creating a path that educates the young ones and exposes them to a broader potential and success life path in the future.

however, it is a neglected fact that kids are often finding books that represented their identities, lacking, particularly in a positive and empowering way.

isn’t it true that every child wants to see their representation in the books they read?

for lisa wee, a children’s illustrator known to be dreamy and introverted as a child.

as a kid who grew up in an asian family in penang, lisa and her siblings find love and passion for reading comics and books. this has led her to dream of becoming an artist, which is, unfortunately, disapproved and forbidden. but that does not stop her from being a children illustrator that tells a tale of multiculturalism and inclusivity, as conversed with the design story team about what it…
