on april 22nd, 2020, the iconic and (quite a lux) american brand calvin klein has reaffirmed its sustainability goals, as they joined sustainable apparel coalition members. one of the pledges includes providing cruelty-free apparel and emphasizing more to a healthier environment in many ways as possible.
despite its long history, which is famous for underwear revolution, they have outlawed the use of exotic animal leather. just a decade after the people for ethical treatment of animals (peta’s) parent company ban animal cruelty for luxury products. they also promised to eliminate hazardous chemicals by 2020.
