there is always something unseen that has made a success story of a design studio or any business.

in an interview with the design story, budiman ong of ong cen kuang designs, revealed who and what are the “special ones” behind his studio. above the material explorations, the rhythm, sequence, and the layering effect of his beautiful products, there are the people who are involved in contributing to shaping the identity along the journey.

“for me, working with a zipper is always considered my journey; it has been a 11 year journey now. in the 9th year, we made something quite significant with zipper: a 1,2 meter-diameter pendant from 1,700 meter of zipper to make one lamp — this is the biggest one we can make so far. now we are on the next journey with zipper, to continue the next chapter”.
