a space of reminiscence: roemah kampung — the award winning habitus house of the year
located in araya — malang, the award-winning habitus living house of the year, roemah kampoeng, has a potential view to the golf course and a green environment.
the owner wished to have a 1-storey residence with many terraces and openings to maximize natural light and air circulation, supported by air quality and temperature in malang.
meanwhile the unity between roemah kampoeng’s interior and exterior is one of the owners’ inspiration. for a space of reminiscence, to joyous childhood memories.
roemah kampoeng is divided into several building masses based on typical “zoning system” in traditional javanese house, namely pendopo, peringitan and omah.
pendopo and peringitan is a public space used as living room, dining room and study room. the usage of glass material on the entire wall makes the inside and outside space has a strong relationship.
