in tulum, mexico’s caribbean coast, a boutique-style holiday home masterplan is projected with an environmentally conscious standard. nestled in the middle of forested trees, offering an intimate relationship with nature.

this becomes a more extended challenge towards regular boutique hotels and their lasting impression towards glam detail, fancy corner, and set amongst urban areas.

designed by london based holland harvey architects, k’in is a series of 8 boutique family homes, or what they called “a jungle living,” paying homage to the beautiful landscape within the area. hence, the most outlined agenda is to nurture the surrounding landscape by replacing the trees removed during the construction stage and actively encouraging the growing native flora and fauna. for such an attempt, modern and tropical wooden accents have been attached throughout the interior.
