gran via house is an example of a residential project by lorenzo corti architects (lca) that incorporates the harmony of natural materials and textures into a tale of northern spain’s natural light. here, one may see soft pale tones, exposed concrete, and carrara marble successfully fabricated predominant endless comfort that one could ever wish to have.

the flat is part of a 1930s expressionist building in gros’s centric neighborhood in san sebastián (basque country) spain. the mix between the proximity to the atlantic ocean and the vibrant neighborhood was inspiring the easy elegant mood for this flat.

the previous layout reflected the traditional way of dividing the spaces into as many rooms as possible with long and dark corridors to accommodate large families living together. the architect converted the flat into a modern three bedrooms with an ample open space containing the living room, dining area, and the kitchen by demolishing most of the internal partitions but keeping all the concrete beams exposed as a reminiscence of the old partitions.
